Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Unit
Added To HHSC Emergency Response Plan

We now have an AED unit available in the event a sudden cardiac arrest emergency were to occur at the club.  Based on strong recommendations from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, and other health organizations about the life-saving potential of implementing an AED program, the Board has studied this issue carefully and made the decision to implement a comprehensive AED program.

Our lifeguards have been trained and are now certified with the AED unit as well as CPR, and we want to stress that as always, the first action in an emergency is to contact our local EMS by dialing 9-1-1.  The AED unit adds valuable response time to the EMS system, and the unit we have purchased was recommended by the Rochester Fire Department, who is aware of our program and the placement of the AED unit.

Please see the attached links for additional detail and background on the benefits of an AED program, and contact us if you have any questions.
