The following rules and regulations are for the protection and benefit of all members. These rules have been established to ensure safe and sanitary operation of the pool facilities and orderly processing of business procedures. Parents are requested to caution their children to observe all rules and obey instructions of the Pool Manager and staff. Any failure to comply with these rules shall be considered sufficient cause for immediate suspension of pool privileges for the offending member for a period from 1 to 7 days and can also be considered sufficient cause for cancellation of a membership.

The Pool Manager and staff operate the club facilities on behalf of all members. They are to be respected at all times while discharging their duties. Adults and children alike must follow directions given by any of the above listed employees. Abusive behavior towards any staff employee will not be tolerated and is subject to Board of Governors review and action as necessary.

Complaints of any nature should be registered with the Pool Manager or an individual Board Member. Complaints thus registered will be forwarded to the Board of Governors for appropriate action and response. Complaints may also be submitted in writing directly to the Board of Governors.

1. CLUB HOURS

Regular weekday hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m Sunday through Thursday.  Friday & Saturday Hours: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. (weather permitting). Club and Pool hours are adjusted while Rochester schools are in session and are posted on the website/Facebook page. Monday – Friday, a portion of the pool may be reserved for swim lessons, swim team practice, and occasionally the pool is closed early on home swim meets and social events. Club facilities may be reserved for particular times and/or activities by action of the Board. Please see the website [https://hhscswim.org] for the club calendar and current operating hours.

2. HEALTH AND SAFETY

All members shall observe the following:

  • All users must shower before entering the pool. No street shoes are allowed on the pool deck.
  • No glass containers of any kind allowed on club property. Food or refreshments may be consumed only in the prescribed areas. 
  • Alcohol is permitted on Club property, during specified Board-sponsored events and on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings throughout the season from 6:00 p.m. to close.
    • Anyone consuming alcohol at the Club must maintain the ability to comply with all other pool rules and regulations, in addition to State law. 
    • At no time will HHSC store a member’s alcoholic beverage(s).
    • Alcohol can be consumed in the pavilion area only. 
    • Anyone consuming alcohol on the premises is responsible for having a safe means of leaving, such as a designated driver.
    • If you do not comply with these rules, the Club will suspend your membership in accordance with the rules stated in paragraph one of this page.
    • We do not, under any circumstances, accept responsibility for any harm that results to yourself, anyone else, or any property due to the consumption of alcoholic beverages. 
  • No running, pushing, wrestling, ball playing or causing undue disturbance in or around the pool area (within staff discretion).
  • Only one person is allowed on the diving board at a time, and a person may jump in once the preceding person has reached the wall and is getting out.
  • Any child not potty trained must wear a swim diaper. This is subject to staff confirmation and by checking with the manager on duty. Swim diapers are available for purchase at the front desk.
  • This club is a family friendly club, no PDA is permitted. 
  • NO SMOKING/VAPING allowed on Swim Club property.
  • The pool basketball net is closed during water aerobics.
  • No pets allowed on Swim Club property.
  • No skateboards, scooters or shoes with wheels allowed on property.
  • Admission shall be refused to anyone with skin abrasions, colds, cough, infections, inflamed eyes, and no open wounds. Nose blowing in the pool is prohibited.
  • Use of the kiddie pool shall be limited to children under 6 years of age, supervised by a responsible adult.
  • Fake drowning or the “dead man’s float” is strictly prohibited.
  • Playing “chicken” in the pool is forbidden  
  • Diving blocks are for swim team use or as permitted by lifeguards. 
  • Lap lanes are set aside for active swimmers and may be used by anyone on a first come first serve basis unless lap lanes are occupied by private lessons or swim team. 
  • During adult swim times all swimmers under the age of 16 in the main pool must exit for the allotted amount of time per management discretion. 
  • No tennis balls are allowed in the pool.
  • On Fridays floaties are allowed all day. They must have a hole in them. The device must not be larger than the child. Floaties that do not meet these standards are strictly prohibited. The management reserves the right to turn any floaty away. Pool noodles are acceptable. 
    • The two lap lanes are to remain free of floaties at all times.
    • A member will only use one floatie at a time. Using two via stacking or other means is not allowed
  • Life Vests and puddle jumpers are allowed as long as an adult is within arms reach of the child.
  • No diving outside the diving well, no flipping off the side of the pool. 
  • The door next to the women’s locker room in the club lobby is for lifeguard and emergency use only. The door says “guards only”
  • No swimming directly under/in front of the lifeguard stands.
    • Diving facilities will be used only under the supervision of a lifeguard.
  • Main pool age restrictions:
    • Children under the age of 8 must always be accompanied by a responsible adult/caregiver.
    • Children over age 4 are restricted from the opposite-sex locker room.
  • In consideration of all members, water toys or other objects are restricted to small items such as soft water balls and diving sticks, as long as they do not impact the comfort and safety of other members and guests. Swim equipment is for use in the lap lanes only.
  • Appropriate swimwear must be worn to enter the pool. 
  • The pool may be closed during inclement weather if lifeguards on duty are unable to see the bottom of the pool. 
  • In the event of lightning and/or thunder the pool will remain closed until 30 minutes have passed since the last occurrence of lightning or thunder.

3. CLUB USE IS AT OWN RISK

All persons, including children, uwing the Club do so at their own risk. The Club will not be responsible for any accident or injury in connection with such use. The Club will not be responsible for loss or damage to personal property.

4. PROPERTY DAMAGE

The cost of any property damage  will be charged to the responsible active member.

5. TENNIS COURTS

The use of the tennis courts are subject to rules which are posted at the entrance of the tennis courts.

6. RADIOS

Radios should be kept at a reasonable volume or be used with headphones so as to not disturb others.

7. GUESTS

There are several options for sharing the club with your guests. In every case, while on Club property, the guest must be accompanied by a member sponsoring the guest(s). All requests for houseguests, babysitters, grandparents and grandchildren must be made in writing to the Board of Governors via the forms page on MemberSplash.

  • Daily Guests
    • Each member family shall be allowed guest privileges. 
    • Members are limited to 9 guests per day, 10 or more must be a registered party via the Member Splash portal
    • Guest privileges are for the calendar day. 
    • The member sponsoring the guest will be charged $5.00 per person.
    • Member must be present at guest check in

All Daily Guests as identified above must be accompanied by a member while on Club property.

  • Houseguests
    • For out-of-town visitors, weekly (7 consecutive days) houseguest privileges are available for either an individual or a family. If the stay is longer than 7 consecutive days please contact the Board of Governors for options.

Like Daily Guests, a member must accompany the guest(s) while on Club property.

  • Babysitters
    • Seasonal babysitter privileges are available. 
    • A babysitter’s a nonmember who is caring for a member family’s children and will be accompanying them to the pool. 
  • Grandchildren
    • Guest privileges are available for grandchildren. 
    • The cost is $75 per family for the season. 
    • Grandchildren must be accompanied by the member. 
  • Parties:
    • Members wishing to host parties or groups which will have 10 or more non-member attendees must submit a request via MemberSplash 10 days in advance. 
    • Late reservation fee of $25 will be assessed if your party date is submitted and approved less than 10 days in advance. 
    • In consideration of all members, member parties will be limited to no more than 50 non-member guests and 2 picnic tables at one time. 
    • Only a single party of 50, or 2 parties of 25, may be held at the same time. 
    • Parties must check out with a manager to ensure they cleaned up sufficiently. If the clean up was not adequate or they did not check out with the manager a $50 cleaning fee is charged. 

8. CODE OF CONDUCT

All members will act responsibly and observe a code of conduct that includes, but is not limited to:

  • NO swimming when the pool is closed for any reason including but not limited to club functions, maintenance and inclement weather. 
  • NO engagement in any activity which is in violation of Local, State or Federal Law.
  • Any illegal activity will warrant immediate removal from the club and member suspension.
  • Distraction and/or harassment of lifeguards while on duty is not tolerated and will be subject to disciplinary actions. 
  • Any rule listed above that is broken more than once or serious violation is subject to disciplinary actions: 
    • Email or phone call warning
    • Temporary membership suspension 
    • Termination of membership

9. THESE RULES MAY BE REVISED OR ADDED AT ANY TIME BY THE BOARD OF GOVERNORS.

Any changes to rules during the year will be noted in email communications.
