A 45 minute class that alternates resistance work with intervals of high intensity aerobic training.
Due to the nature of intervals, this class is suitable for most fitness levels—just adjust the intensity of the aerobic intervals up or down to challenge yourself appropriately.
No previous experience required…everyone is welcome to just come and join the fun.
Meet the Heart of the Hills Water Aerobics Staff
Staci Brodeur has been teaching aerobics and fitness since before Reebok created shoes! She is an ACE certified group exercise instructor (which means when she took the test in 1987 there weren’t even study manuals). Staci is a Peak Pilates comprehensively certified instructor as well as Johnny G and Journeying certified in indoor cycling. She is a Master Instructor/Teacher Trainer for Bodyblade, MVe and Peak Pilates. She learned to teach water aerobics at Heart of the Hills over 20 years ago and continues to love the fun and camaraderie of the participants. When she’s not teaching fitness, she spends time raising her 17 year old son and 14 and 9 year old daughters.
Stephanie began her fitness career in the water with water aerobics, over 11 years ago. She taught a variety of water fitness classes including prenatal, shallow and deep water and SilverSplash, a program for active older adults. Since then, she expanded into wellness, group exercise, SilverSneakers (active older adult fitness), pilates and yoga where she continues to teach. She has held water fitness certifications as well as group exercise. She also has her RYT 200 and 500 certification, approved through Yoga Alliance. Stephanie has a passion for healthy mind, body and fitness and loves to share that passion with others and to work with people of all abilities. She has two teenagers and a husband who keep her busy and grounded.
Dawn is a law professional by day and an amazing water teacher by night and weekend and lunch hour is possible! Her love of the water and how much fun she has when she exercises in the water is how her career as an instructor started. After attending classes for a couple years, she became WaterArt Water Instructor Certified in 2007. Dawn is also certified as a SilverSplash and SilverSneakers instructor. Dawn continues keeping her certifications up to date, by attending at least 2 workshops yearly. One of the best parts of teaching water exercise is the friendships she has made.
Jacqui is a seasoned water aerobics veteran. She has taught at the YMCA for over 10 years. This is her sixth summer at Heart of the Hills and she loves every minute of it!
