The youth team is run by Coach Konrad. The team practices are divided by age group – 7-10 years, 11-12 years and 13 yrs+. The team practices are twice a week for 90 minutes each practice, over 6 weeks. In addition, match play is once a week on Thursday (for “B” team) and/or Friday (for “A” team). “A” and “B” teams play matches against other swim and tennis clubs around the area.
“A” and “B” team selection is based on skill level. Matches can be either Home (at Heart of the Hills) or Away (at another swim/tennis club in the area) from the hours of 1:00 – 4:00 pm on Thursday or 12:00 – 3:00 pm Friday. Transportation is not provided. All participants in Home matches will receive a snack and a drink. Participants must bring their own tennis racket and wear the HHSC uniform shirt or other red shirt (preferably plain red Nike dry fit) and must sign-up for TeamSNAP. The youth teams utilize TeamSNAP to communicate and manage team scheduling.

Frequently asked questions
Is my child skilled enough to sign up for the team, or is a clinic more appropriate?
Children should be able to get serves in to participate on the team. If you are not sure, please sign up for the team and come to pre-season practice. If the coach thinks it’s more appropriate to sign up for a clinic instead of the team, he will let you know after a few practices.
Are teens too old for the kids’ clinic?
HHSC has added an ‘Advanced Clinic’ for older experienced children/ advanced players. Ages 16 and under may sign up for the Advanced clinic. The Adult Clinics are an option as well for older children, 14+ may sign up for the Adult Clinic.
What if my child is not available to attend the pre-season practice?
That is fine. The pre-season practices are optional. The first matches are schedule the first week after school ends, so it will be very helpful for team members to attend the optional pre-season practices if they are able to.
